Education

Rick Hinson (President ex Officio) presents Luke Mynott of the Australian Film, Television & Radio School with the Verna Fields Award for his work on the student film CROOKED MICK.

A primary purpose of the Motion Picture Sound Editors is to educate the other members, the entertainment industry, and the general public about the importance and artistic merit of the sound track.

A major way we do this is through our Golden Reel Awards, providing an annual recognition of the best sound work in movies, television, home video, computer entertainment, special venues, and student films.

Other ways are through this website (feel free to browse around) and starting in 2004, through public presentations held in Greater Los Angeles.

Transcripts of our “Sound Shows” are available in this section. Please give them a read and learn more about what we do. And keep posted for our next big show.

The MPSE has recently added a new level of membership for students. For information, please see our Membership page.
